Peoples' World Constituent Assembly (1950-51):
Ghent Conference:

At Hôtel de la Poste in Ghent, Belgium on March 10th – 12th 1950, 100 representatives from 20 countries met as the Peoples' World Convention Planning Conference. They resolved that the Peoples' World Convention along with the World Constituent Assembly would meet in initial session at Geneva, Switzerland, December 30, 1950. A Peoples' World Convention Executive Committee on Arrangements was appointed. A Provisional Secretariat was established at Edgar Gevaert's House in Ghent, Belgium immediately after the Conference. On 12th June 1950, Secretariat was transferred and a permanent Secretariat for the Peoples' World Convention was established in Geneva, Switzerland with offices at Palais Wilson. An International Liaison Council was formed with 150 members from 36 countries.
